I know not of Aviva Drescher’s philanthropic involvement but I’d be tempted to warn Sonja that those that live in glass houses…….
This report from the New York Observer shows Sonja itching for a fight and one that I think she might lose.
“We all went to one of her SoulCycle events, but she wasn’t really involved with any charities,” the ex-wife of JP Morgan told New York Observer. “I ran into her ex-husband (Harry Dubin) and he was just as surprised; he said Aviva never did any philanthropy.”
There are a lot of bitchy people in NYC and there will be plenty of them lining up to take her down unless she’s careful and clearly she wasn’t being so on last night’s red carpet. Just this past Monday Alex & I were on the honorary committee for the Marriage Equality USA National Gala and hosted a table where all of us had to pony up $300 for a GREAT cause. For some reason she of the (self appointed) Grand Marshal of the 2010 Marriage Equality March didn’t attend & I’ve been reliably informed that her non attendance was to do with the fact that her ticket wouldn’t be ‘comped’. Need I tell Sonja that sometimes philanthropy means actually paying out dollars and not just gracing an event with your appearance?
In any event if a cat fight is what you’re after it looks like that the oldies on this season’s ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ will be going down.
So, now that the first few episodes have aired, what do you think? As an aside, Ramona is completely off her rocker. She is so childish. Not that I agree with LuAnn. I hope the whole issue of Faux Nobility will come up this season, what with Carole being a “princess” and all. BTW, I thought Bobby Vinton was the Polish Prince. Can you please update us on the McCord/VanKempen household? Thx.
She is out for free publicity! she can afford a BMW. 7 mill dollar home makes 275,000- 500,000 go out parting it up, buy new clothes, pay a make up artist etc but cant pay 300 for something she made such a huge deal out of last yr to gain fans! Sonja is a selfish person and wish they wouldve got rid of her with the other ladies! Shes a ake as they come!
I love Sonja, so I will always side with her. That said, I agree with you about paying money at charities and not just making appearances. We all know of Sonja’s financial struggles, remember her lawyer(Jill Zarin) informed us of them last year. So maybe she couldn’t afford $300 at the time. Whatever the case may be, these ladies have already filmed so that means they must’ve had some issues that we will all see unfold. Then we should make our judgements. There is one huge thing you left out about the NY Observer report, and that was Aviva’s response to what Sonja said. She responded by calling Sonja an alcoholic and saying she has to be carried out of parties. That’s not nice at all. So this fight is not one-sided at all. It goes both ways & I for one, cannot wait to watch it all unfold on #RHONY
One last thing, I was supper pissed off when Sonja made such a big deal about being the Grand Marshall of the Gay Marriage Equality Act. She should have let you speak and not have acted like such a baby over it. In my opinion you and Alex should’ve been the GM in the first place. It didn’t even make sense having her do it, but whatever its over now. So that’s all I have to say about that. Thanks for reading:)
Jeri, I will agree with you in regards to Aviva unnecessarily going for the jugular and making an off tangent attack in her rebuttal. I am sure that she could have criticized Sonja and have stayed on point that being ‘philanthropic involvement’. The three new cast members can have really no idea how their lives are going to be impacted once the show starts airing on June 4th. They will all be in for a very wild ride.
That’s it Simon. stir the excrement, then wonder why people point their fingers at you. Still with the evil over the gay parade. Hasn’t enough time passed. Bad example for your boys.
Simon, I miss you and Alex on the show, but especially you. You were so down-to-earth and I like your style. You kept those crazy ladies on their toes! I already do not care for the new ladies, never did care for Luann, so full of herself she can instaneously combust; Ramona, well, I feel bad for her. I do like Sonja, but her past is coming back to haunt her. As far as Jill, Kelly, Cindy – I say good riddance.
I am surprised she did not use Jill Zarin tact of going on a twitter war until her ticket was compensated.
