Earlier this week, Alex & I were at the FIT Couture Council Summer Party and I gave an interview to Bennett Marcus at New York Magazine, he was asking about various Real Housewives news and then he moved on to the upcoming Fashion Week. He then asked Alex if she’s planning any stunts for the upcoming Fashion’s Night Out, like singing. “Am I going to sing?” she answered in disbelief. No, she is not. But! “I’m going to sing this Friday night,” her husband, Simon van Kempen, chirped. See article here.
And I was! Ben Harvey, a DJ & promoter of Gumbo Dumbo NYC, has asked me to perform at their 2nd anniversary bash and below is the result.
I know they say that white men can’t dance, and perhaps I can’t or shouldn’t but I for one think that I’ve come along way since my nervous performance earlier this year in the cramped space of Andy Cohen’s Clubhouse.
If you feel so inclined I’d love it if you bought the song and here are the various iTunes links
iTunes USA
iTunes Canada
iTunes UK
iTunes Australia
It’s also available on Amazon, Napster and most other music download sites.
And if you feel that you’d prefer something a little less 80′s retro and more electronic, then check out the “Thug in A Club Mix” here

I think its pretty fun and cute. It’s not to be taken super seriously so everyone calm down. I do think backup dancers would be fun and give it a little more oomph though
Simple Simon you are a joke who and what are you trying to do ? give it up we all know you want to be a big poof so why not come out and tell all instead of beating about the bush anymore and youe so called wife is as bad as you please go away from our screens for good and live the GAY life you deserve thank Andrew B
WAAAAYYYYYYY better than the “Countless” Simon…..
This is the most god awful performance I have ever seen! It’s embaressing for me to watch even! Are you that effing desperate to be famous…and just come out the closet already! Alex, you must be desperate…get a real man already. You both need to get over yourselves and realise no one likes you!
you are terrible! I don’t know who told you you could sing, but they most be deaf. Your singing sucks and your moves are even worst!! PLEASE, PLEASE don’t give up your day job (if you even have one)
You two are my favorite couple. Your boys are so adorable. I wish you the best on your new adventures. Is Alex still modeling? She is beautiful.
luv luv LUV U! Always have, always will!
How cute!!! LOVED IT!!! What you see is what you get! perfect! Great outfit, as well! You can tell that you ARE REAL! All respect to Alex, I agree with Tara
I love how you own who you are, what you wear, and what you do. It’s refreshing to see a person just go out there and do what they love. Great job for being REAL!!! Your pleather/latex pants and man ballet slippers (I know they’re probably loafers) just had me smiling as I watched. Kudos and Judos to you, Simon.

Love the pants but Simon, black loafers and white socks? Neither go with the pants. U need some boots! Good job though
Hahahahaha! You are SO FUNNY warbling out that foolish ditty!!! Was that what you’re going for (i.e. a self mocking song)? I am NOT so inclined to buy it – but thanks all the same…
I think Francois and Johan had a bit more stage presence
good job Simon!
Just awesome Simon!!!! You were NOT nervous at all and I loved those small gyrations of the hips. The song is catchy and I love it. The blue pleather pants just made it. Love those!
Simon, you are HOT!!!
