8th Webisode – Exclusively for BravoTV.com

After watching the second part of the Reunion on Monday night, Alex & I checked the Bravo website to see if her blog had been posted and then got a nice surprise to see that this video, which hadn’t made it into the show, had been posted as an additional webisode. For over a year Alex & I have recorded various children’s stories for Speakaboos, and when we’d played them for the chums, they always expressed a desire to record some as well. And so they did. In January, 2011 we took them into Manhattan one afternoon after school and they were let loose in a recording booth. Unfortunately, our friends at Speakaboos also provided chocolate chip cookies but we managed to keep the boys away from them until after they recorded their parts. Take a look….

And take this link to listen to the final recording of the North Wind & The Sun, with me narrating and Francois playing the North Wind and Johan the Sun.

I think Speakaboos still have to post some other stories we recorded but here are links to the ones they’re hosting on their website at the moment.

Five Little Monkeys – Read by Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen
Three Little Kittens – Read by Alex McCord – Sound effects by Simon van Kempen
Treasure Island – Read by Alex MCCord & Simon van Kempen
The North Wind & The Sun – Read by Simon, Francois & Johan van Kempen

Also for those that have tweeted or commented here that these are the kind of scenes you’d like to see on Real Housewives also please watch these other four webisodes. Combined with this one, all five give a great indication of the character of our two young children.

Webisode 1 Cooking Concoctions with the Chums

Webisode 2 Getting the Boys out the Door

Webisode 3 The Abominably Built Snowman

Webisode 4 Dinner out with the Chums

And for an added laugh & smile, check out their tribute video to I Am Real

If you want to have your voices heard please don’t hesitate to tweet at BravoTV and also Andy Cohen’s @BravoAndy Twitter accounts.

There have been rumors out there that @mccordalex won’t be returning to RHONYC; if so, Bravo’s lost a viewer in me. I’ve watched the chums grow from mere babes and would absolutely HATE not seeing them continue to grow. They’re so intelligent, creative and sweet. If ever you feel down in the dumps, take a look at those exquisitely beautiful faces and know that you’ve already contributed more to this world’s future than most do in a lifetime. My love to the VanKempen-McCord family & thanks for sharing your lives with us.

While I have no problem with you and Alex I did take exception to your comments about being from Kansas. Check out this link to see what kind of people actually come from Kansas http://stuffaboutstates.com/kansas/people.htm.

From my point of view this is the UNITED STATES of America. United being the key word. The states stand together, united, not tearing each other down. I hope you will take a moment to check out the link I have included. I think you will attract more fans if you don’t try to hold yourself so far above other people.

    • Alex McCord says:

Hi DarnKid — I’m afraid our point was missed. I personally can’t stand it when idiots run Kansas down or call it fly-over country, etc. My point (and Simon’s) was that all sorts of people live and work in Kansas, and assumptions shouldn’t be made about those who do. I usually go on offense anytime KS is brought up by someone who doesn’t live there, and I think maybe you did too in this case. Our intentions were honorable.

Simon, these webisodes are the sweetest video’s ever
and I think you and Alex have shown so much
honesty and courage during the last few seasons. Both
Both of you have taken some nasty and hurtful remarks
and turned them around to the humor of us all. Just
keep on being yourselves and you will come out ahead
every time. Your boys are smart, charming and very funny
which is a testament to you both! Xo

  4. Susan says:

Great Job!!! I love watching you Simon, and I love love Alex!!! You guys rock!

  5. jenny says:

While the video is cute it’s not at all what I would expect or want to see on the Housewives.

    • And your comment in an example how difficult it is for the cast & producers to satisfy everybody all the time. Many people have commented that the 4th season was too much bickering and not enough fun & family. Many others disagree with you and that’s what makes the world go around. :D

  6. TiaLynn says:

    Very Freakin’ cute’!

    • Shelly Green says:

Love the videos and just played my 4 year old 5 little Monkeys- it’s one of his favorite books.

Good luck to you Simon on your new social media company!!

Your family rocks and reminds me of my own here in the Upper Midwest.

  7. Hailey says:

Y’all are such good parents. This is adorable!

  8. Crystal says:

They are absolutely adorable! Speakaboos sounds great.

  9. Sweden25 says:

You should re-post them to youtube so us outside the US can enjoy the chums too:D

    • If I did Bravo would kill me as they own the copyright. Can you watch/listen to the Speakaboo links of the final recordings?

      • Robin Telesko says:

OMG your boys are the sweetest. I think the last time we saw them on the show they were talked about badly by Jill. Something like this on the show would show the side of the boys that you see, the family that you are and this would shut Jill Up. You two are wonderful, loving parents and the best thing that you show us is that you are fair. You are good people and it looks as if you both live your life like The Golden Rule says. Your all great role models! Don’t stop showing your family and making the Speakaboo recordings. I am a true fan of your family especially Alex! I just love her something about her reminds me of me and I’ve been misunderstood for sticking up for my friends too. You have a big heart Alex.

      • Sweden25 says:

Ok, I wouldn`t want you to get killed, that would be horrible ;-)

Yeah I can watch/listen to the Speakaboo links, I love how Johan says “Van Kempen” in the story of The north wind, it`s adorable <3

(One is never too old to enjoy some childrens stories while studying, haha)

      • Shelly Green says:

You can access the videos on Speakaboo- i just played my 4 year old Jack 5 monkeys for the 5th time!!!!

Thanks Simon- one more routine to fit in before bed!!!!

Just kidding- i loved the vidoes.

        You are awesome!!

    • Joan says:

I agree Sweden25, I can’t watch any video from Bravo either.. what a shame! I can however watch youtube as the Chums videos were on there..

  10. Susan says:

Now that’s the kind of stuff I would rather see on the show. Sweet and fun. Not drama, drama, drama. Your boys are great!

  11. Maire says:

OMGosh! Your boys are so cute! They both read beautifully!!
Good job, Francois and Johan! You guys rocked it!

HEllo Simon! I WROTE TO YOUR WIFE AND i dont know if she relayed to you that I am in the process of writing a song foor YOU. . Coining the brilliant words Alex said to Luanne “she is just a thug in a cocktail dress. I am a singer and songwriter and when I heard that comment combined seeing your performance on “Whatch what happens” I was inspired to write a song for you. I AM ALMOST FINISHED AND NOW i am just saving up money to record it (may take some time because my hubby and I were just laid off and times are tough and studio time is quite expensive. So when we get on our feet I will be able to record it and send it to you. I love the stage presence you have and I appreciate you and Alex being yourselves. It is nice to see such a happy couple who have integrity! Also Alex graciously wrote me back after asking her your secret for a lasting happy marriage (I am a newlywed myself). God bless you and your beautifull family and as soon as that song is done I will send it to you! ;)
